Tri Hita Karana is a traditional philosophy for life on the island of Bali and has become our shared values at Kharista Villas & Retreat. It is derived from the Balinese spiritualism and beliefs, which promote harmony among fellow human beings, harmony with nature, and harmony towards God manifested in numerous rituals and offerings.
In our mission to contribute, preserve and improve the positive impact of tourism, we dedicate ourselves and our activities to following the principle of sustainability through continuous process and constant improvement.
They are the true heart and soul of our organization. We therefore focus closely on their wellbeing by nurturing their talents, providing educational training, and creating a favourable working ecosystem and a balanced way of life.
For every single booking our guests make, we will plant one tree. #OneBookingOneTree aims to protect and preserve mangrove forests within Indonesia, especially Bali. We collaborate with local non-profit organizations and the local fisherman community in Bali.
We always prefer and love to support local products, partners, and suppliers. It will help to continually improve the prosperity of the local community.
#ZeroHunger is our initiative to support the Balinese under-privileged with groceries and basic needs.
We educate our guests with local knowledge and provide them with “DO and DONT”. When designing travel experiences, we always listen to the local society and respect the indigenous culture and traditions.
Within our entire operation, we avoid using single-use plastic. Instead, we encourage our guests to bring their refillable bottles, and they can refill their bottles with us for free.
To cooperate with the experts to help us better plan our daily operations, activities, and future development to be more eco-friendly and minimize the negative impacts on the environment.
Our goal is to minimize waste that goes to the landfill by composting and separating organic and non-organic waste. We also incorporate the latest technology on STP (sewage treatment plan).
This includes using Solar PV to reduce the conventional electricity supply consumption and installing a water management system.
We hope our little steps in supporting sustainable practices and eco-friendly approaches can inspire our friends within the tourism and hospitality industry. Moving towards a sustainable future together.
